A PSA About TIFF 2020

tiff20

It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that for the first time since I started going to the festival in 2003, I will not be seeing any films at the Toronto International Film Festival this year. There are many reasons for this decision, ranging from the current COVID-19 pandemic to the closeness to my current coverage of Fantasia, to the reduced line-up of only 50 films. Ultimately, the deciding factor for me was the fact that I simply could not afford to pay to go for a lessened festival experience.

While missing out on TIFF will undoubtedly leave a void in my film festival coverage, there is still plenty for me to write about, as I finish my coverage of the 2020 Fantasia Film Festival and prepare for the Blood in the Snow Film Festival, airing on SuperChannel in October.

However, don’t let that stop you will checking out the TIFF schedule and seeing some of the films playing both theatrical and online from September 10-19, 2020.
