Paranormal Activity 2: Trying to Make Lightning Strike Twice

ParanormalActivity2 1

Tonight, 20 North American cities will host free midnight screenings of Paranormal Activity 2, as a result of a second “Demand It!” campaign.

The sequel promises to feature more of the same, however at the same time I can’t shake the feeling that this film is a cash-in sequel to a film that was a true sleeper hit.

While I gladly went to the midnight screening last year after Toronto was voted in the “Demand It!” campaign, I’m going to sit it out this year.  This will be for two reasons: 1) I believe that the free status of the screening will make it next to impossible to get in, unless I wait in line for 8 hours (the lines begin at 4:00), 2) I have already earmarked this film as being the film I go and see on Halloween.

Anyways, for those interested, here is the details for tonight’s Toronto screening:
DATE: Wednesday, October 20
TIME: 11:59pm local time (lines form at 4pm local time – first come first serve)
THEATER NAME / CITY: AMC Yonge & Dundas
ADDRESS: 10 Dundas Street East #402, Toronto, ON M5B 2G9
