the Taking of Pelham 123

TheTakingofPelham123PosterI always believe that a good thriller can be a quite entertaining film that you don’t have to put too much thought into.

That’s what this film happens to be.

The only Scott film I really saw before this was Top Gun, however I may now be willing to check out some of the other. I didn’t know that this was a remake of a 1974 film staring Walter Matthau and until recently (in fact I just happened to see the DVD in Best Buy this past week).

I can’t really compare versions, however I can see this film features and doing what they do best, especially Travolta (it’s been WAY too long since he last has a good villainous role).

The best parts of this film are the tense moments when Washington and Travolta are having a battle of wits over the radio.

Overall the film was a fun escapist film.
