Interesting News of the Moment: Full-length Indies on YouTube

youtube logoThis is definitely interesting news. I just read on IMDb that YouTube is planning to allow start streaming full length films from Independent producers that were unable to find distributors. The filmmakers will also be able to attach a “buy now” button and receive a percentage of all films presented on the website.

I’m not sure what to think of this idea. I’m already not a big fan of movie downloads (legal or otherwise) and sitting at a computer to watch a full length film is a lot different than going to a theatre or watching a DVD in your living room. On the other hand, it does give filmmakers the opportunity for their films to be seen.

I guess I will just wait to see how this all turns out.
