This year’s Oscars was a year of surprises, with everyone getting something. I got 12 out of 24 predictions, which is fair enough, considering some of the surprise winners.

So, here are my final thoughts on the major winners.

Best Picture
My Prediction and Winner: No Country for Old Men
Final Thoughts: In a night of surprises, this was no surprise.

Best Actor
My Prediction and Winner: Daniel Day-Lewis
Final Thoughts: See above.

Best Actress
My Prediction: Julie Christie
Winner: Marion Cotillard
Final Thoughts: Biggest surprise of the night

Best Supporting Actor
My Prediction and Winner: Javier Bardem
Final Thoughts: Another non-surprise.

Best Supporting Actress
My Prediction: Cate Blanchett
Winner: Tilda Swinton
Final Thoughts: This was a bit of a surprise.

Best Director
My Prediction and Winner: Coen Brothers
Final Thoughts: They deserve it too.

Best Original Screenplay
My Prediction and Winner: Juno
Final Thoughts: I think Diablo Cody’s writing career has come to great start.

Best Adapted Screenplay
My Prediction and Winner: No Country for Old Men
Final Thoughts: Coen’s were on a role.

Best Animated Film
My Prediction: Persepolis
Winner: Ratatouille
Final Thoughts: I really thought they would look past CGI against traditional.
