Physical Media Recommendations – Pride Week Edition

Physical media has mostly exited the mainstream, with many going as far to declare it dead. However, there is still a dedicated group of cinephiles and collectors, who know the value of DVD, Blu-Ray, and 4K Ultra HD. As such, this column is a showcase of recent physical media releases that may peak your interest.

With Pride occuring this week in Toronto, today’s group of recommendations deal with recent releases that have 2SLGBTQ+ themes. At the top of the list is the recent Criterion Collection release of the Wachowski’s debut film . Some of the other selections I chose include the LGBTQ wresting documentary Out in the Ring, the horror-adjacent trans-allegory I Saw the TV Glow, and the already a cult classic crime thriller Love Lies Bleeding.
