The Secretary General of NATO faces a challenging final year in Facing War. Jens Stoltenberg has been the head of NATO and is read to stand down and return home to his wife in Norway. However, U.S. President Joe Biden convinces Stoltenberg to stay on for another year, as NATO has the challenge of how they will continue to support Ukraine without triggering a World War with Russia.
Facing War Synopsis
Facing War is a documentary directed by Tommy Gulliksen, which follows Jens Stoltenberg during his final year as the Secretary General of NATO. The main issue during this final year is how NATO will continue to support Ukraine and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, even though the country is not officially a member of NATO. The more involved that NATO get involved with the War in Ukraine, the more they risk triggering World War III with Russia.

My Thoughts on Facing War
In addition to being a political documentary that provides a peak behind the curtain at what goes on at NATO, Facing War can also be a film about the friendship between Jens Stoltenberg and Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Stoltenberg has promised that NATO will be by Ukraine’s side until the very end, but this is becoming an increasingly difficult proposition, as the war with Russia begins to take its toll. Overall, Facing Wall is a fascinating look at the man whose job is to unify it member countries.
