A superintendent observes the tenants’ actions in a rundown apartment complex in Niagara Falls in The Legacy of Cloudy Falls. Cloudy Falls Residence is an apartment complex in Niagara Falls which seems destined to be torn down. The superintendent, Rita (Susan Berger), tells the story of three of the tenants of Cloudy Falls. These include Terry (Andrew Moodie), a lonely souvenir store employee who becomes infatuated with the squatter, Edwin (Josh Dohy), next door, Brigit Gallow (Grace Glowicki), a Debunker YouTuber hoping to expose popular psychic Walter Pryce (Robert Nolan), and finally Riley (Amanda Martínez), a compulsive lier who scams her way into an apartment and pretends to be a local talent agent.

The Legacy of Cloudy Falls is an anthology dramedy and the feature film debut from writer/director Nick Butler. The various stories of the film are narrated by Rita, played by Susan Berger (The Tragedy of Macbeth), the superintendent of the rundown Cloudy Falls Residence. The three central protagonists of the film include Grace Glowicki (Booger, The Heirloom) as Dubunker Brigit Gallow, Andrew Moodie as lonely middle-aged Terry, and Amanda Martinez as compulsive liar Riley. The ensemble cast of The Legacy of Cloudy Falls also includes Josh Dohy as Terry’s neighbour Edwin, Brennan Clost as Edwin’s boyfriend Lucas, Alex Weiner as casino employee Brick, and Robert Nolan (Beyond the Chamber of Terror) as the psychic Walter Pryce.

The Legacy of Cloudy Falls is the type of anthology film that switches back and forth between the three central stories, with minimal crossover between the protagonists. The standout performances in the film include Grace Glowicki’s Brigit Gallow, whose debunking quest borders on obsession and Andrew Moodie’s Terry, whose infatuation with his neighbour Edwin gets him in-between the latter’s relationship with his boyfriend Lucas. The Legacy of Cloudy Falls also suggests that the narrator, Rita, might be somewhat unreliable and that the film is ultimately about the stories we form about the people around us.
