The summer movie season is now in full swing with a few big releases set for this month.

Feature Film July 2009
HarryPotterandtheHalfBloodPrincePosters 1Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince – July 15
Not only was this film purposely delayed by six months, but thanks to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the IMAX release of the film will be delayed by two weeks (meaning people that like to see films opening weekend — like me — would probably opt out). Still, this will probably be one of the biggest films of the summer and I am looking forward to seeing it (no matter what the size of the screen).

Other Picks for the Month
Public Enemies – July 1
I’m really looking forward to checking out this gangster flick this weekend.

Brüno – July 10
Hopefully this film will at least be just as funny as Borat.

(500) Days of Summer – July 17
This is probably my indie pick of the month.

Funny People – July 31
If all goes right, this film will be the comedy to beat this summer.

May Check Out

Orphan – July 24
The middle of summer is probably not the best time to go see a horror film, but there is nothing else that interests me opening that week.

Not Interested

The Ugly Truth – July 24
While the film’s R rating may suggest that the film is trying to play-up the success of ‘s earlier film Knocked Up, I can say that even with all the foul-mouthed lines from you can fit, this is still going to be a chick flick.
