Movies of the Moment: May 2009

The summer movie season is upon us and it begins with a very packed month of May.

Feature Film May 2009
StarTrekPoster 3Star Trek – May 8
I’m a self-described Trekkie, so it would be a no brainer that I would be excited about this prequel.

Other Picks for the Month
X-Men Origins: Wolverine – May 1
Today’s release of this X-Men prequel kicks off the summer in style.

Angels and Demons – May 15
I enjoyed The DaVinci Code, so I expect that I will like this one too.

The Brothers Bloom – May 15
Hopefully, I will finally be able to see this film.

Terminator: Salvation – May 21
I think I ignored the Terminator series too long. I should try and catch up on the films beforehand.

Drag Me to Hell – May 29
I am really looking forward to Sam Raimi’s return to horror films.

May Check Out

Night at the Museum: Battle for the Smithsonian – May 22
I found the first film fun, and I may check out the sequel if I can fit it in.

Up – May 29
Pixar animated films usually get high praise. However, in this packed month, it could be hard to find time to see it.

Not Interested

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past – May 1
Why do romantic comedies sport some of the most outrageous plots?

Dance Flick – May 22
While it may be the first decent Wayans brothers film in a while, I think I stopped caring about them ever since they dropped from the Scary Movie franchise.
