Box Office Thoughts for the Weekend of February 6, 2009

HesJustNotThatIntoYou PosterValentine’s Day is not for another week, however the ensemble romantic comedy He’s Just Not That Into You topped the box office with an estimated gross of $27.5M. Last week’s top film, Taken, dropped to second place with an estimated gross of $20.3M.

As for the other new release, Coraline opened in third place with an estimated $16.3M, The Panther 2 opened in forth with an estimated $12M and Push opened in sixth place with an estimated gross of $10.2M.

In other news, Paul Blart: Mall Cop added an estimated $11M to it’s total, bring it only about $3M away from being the first film released this year to pass the $100M.

And that’s the box office thoughts for this week.
