Box Office Thoughts for the Weekend of January 16, 2009

PaulBlartMallCop Poster 2As proof that people will flock to comedies no matter what the critics say, Paul Blart: Mall Cop topped the box office with an estimated $39M, Gran Torino dropped to second $26.2M.

The top five is rounded out with My Bloody Valentine 3D in third place with an estimated $24.2M, Notorious in fourth place with an estimated $24M, and Hotel for Dogs in fifth with an estimated gross of $22.5M.

And that’s the box office thoughts for this week.
