News: Disney Buys Marvel

Some big news that is developing is that Disney is in the process of purchasing Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion.

As part of the deal, Disney would eventually like to have full distribution rights for all Marvel-based films after the current deals with studios expire.

While it would be unlikely that Marvel films would be released under the Disney name (more likely under Miramax or Touchstone), however this could mean that some of the already established franchises may get reboots in the future.

Time will only tell how this buy-out will effect the Marvel films.
