the Film’s Chances:
If anything, the fact that The Irishman is one of the leading nominees should help to silence those who are criticizing the validity of Netflix productions, especially one directed by a filmmaker as high calibre as Martin Scorsese. While the films of Martin Scorsese have had Oscar success in the past, I fear that ultimately The Irishman will end up somewhat lost in the shuffle, though I wouldn’t be surprised if the Academy awards the film’s de-ageing with a Visual Effects Oscar.
