The teenage assassins are back for a third mission in Baby Assassins: Nice Days. Mahiro Fukagawa (Saori Izawa) and Chisato Sugimoto (Akari Takaishi) are on a working vacation in Miyazaki, with the plan being to celebrate Mahiro’s 20th birthday after killing their latest target. However, Mahiro and Chisato are beaten to the punch by highly skilled freelancer Kaede Fuyumura (Sôsuke Ikematsu), who proves to be a match for even Mahiro. With Kaede on the run, he is made Mahiro and Chisato’s next target, with “adult supervision” from Iruka Minami (Atsuko Maeda) and Riku Nanase (Mondo Otani).
Baby Assassins: Nice Days Synopsis
Baby Assassins: Nice Days is the third entry in the action-comedy franchise, once again written and directed by Yugo Sakamoto and featuring stunt performer and actor Saori Izawa. The formerly teenage assassins are on the cusp of adulthood, with Izawa’s character of Mahiro on the cusp of her 20th birthday and she and her best friend Chisato are looking forward to some vacation time after finishing their latest mission. However, they meet their match with freelance assassin Kaede Fuyumura, who will turn out to be the girl’s gravest challenge.

My Thoughts on Baby Assassins: Nice Days
Presumably, there have been yearly sequels produced to 2022’s original Baby Assassins to try and outrun the fact that stars Saori Izawa and Akari Takaishi as quickly outgrowing the original premise of teenage assassins. In that regard, Baby Assassins: Nice Days can be seen as the concluding chapter of a trilogy, with Mahiro’s 20th birthday being a major plot point. While the action scenes are exceptionally well-choreographed, the actual plot and the growing cast of recurring characters might be more suited for a television series than a film. Ultimately, Baby Assassins: Nice Days is more of the same as this franchise, which isn’t exactly a bad thing.
