Oscar Week ’10: The Films I Missed – An Education

AnEducation

I would have to say that falls into the category of the well-loved indie film that gets a nomination as a result.

I managed to see this British film last week and I can understand how it came to be nominated.  It’s a nice little coming of age story about a high school senior who gets into a relationship with a much older man.

Carrey Mulligan most definitely stood out in her leading role and well-deserved her best actress nomination.

Overall, it was an enjoyable film, even though I doubt that the film has a serious chance of winning the Oscar.
