Oscar Week ’10: The Films I Missed – The Hurt Locker

TheHurtLockerPoster 1

As the awards season progressed, this film slowly moved into frontrunner status.  As such, it was the film I absolutely had to make sure and see before the ceremony.

One thing I have to say about the film is that it would be unfair to compare this film to, the other frontrunner, Avatar.  Those two films are just on the opposite ends of the spectrum.

That said, I can confidently say that is probably the best modern war film to come out.  In other words, this Iraq War-set film can probably easily stand along side the best World War II and Vietnam films.

Let’s wait and see if the film comes out on top at the ceremony.

8/10
