A professional getaway driver has to protect a child from a corrupt police captain in . Jung Eun-ha () is an incredibly skilled driver for “Special Delivery” courier service run by Baek Sa-jang (), which will transport everything that the regular post won’t. Eun-ha is assigned to pick-up disgraced baseball player Kim Du-Sik (Yeon Woo-Jin), who is on the run from gangsters with his young son Seo-won () in tow. However, the pick-up is intercepted by corrupt police captain Jo Kyung-Pil (), who wants back a bank security fob stolen by Du-Sik, which is given to Seo-won, who ends up driving off with Eun-ha.

Special Delivery is an action film from writedirector Dae-min Park, which stars Park So-dam (Parasite) as the name driver for a company that is essentially an Uber for getaway drivers. Jung Eun-ha gets more than she bargained for when a job to pick up a man fleeing the country goes awry and she is forced to care for his young son Seo-won. To make matters worse, Captain Jo Kyung-Pil, a police officer moonlighting as the head of a gambling ring, is on Eun-ha’s trail and desperately wants back a security fob that will give him access to $30 million.

Special Delivery is essentially a Korean version of films such as Drive and Baby Driver, with the film’s opening sequence being a quite enjoyable demonstration of protagonist Jung Eun-ha’s driving skills. However, while the film does feature its fair share of bloody action set-pieces, Special Delivery also has quite a bit of heart, as Eun-ha begins to bond with the child Seo-won left in her care. Altogether, Special Delivery is one enjoyable ride.
