The Dead Thing is a horror romance and the solo directorial debut from co-writer and director Elric Kane, best known as one of the hosts of the Pure Cinema podcast. The new stars Blu Hunt (The New Mutants) as Alex, a directionless woman crashing with her best friend Cara (), who herself is dealing with the recent break-up with her fiance Paul (). My Thoughts on The Dead Thing

Stemming from a twist that occurs at the end of the first act, The Dead Thing is a film that begins as a romance and steadily progresses into supernatural horror. Even though the turn is somewhat easy to predict, I still believe that The Dead Thing is a film that is best experienced by knowing as few specific details as possible. At the very least, I can say that the film gives a whole new meaning to the term ghosting.
