This Week in Movies – April 13-19

TheCabinintheWoods 1

I’m coming off of a very busy week and heading into a very busy weekend.  While it’s overall a bit of an off-week in terms of movie screenings, there are still a couple films I want to see.

New Releases

  • The Cabin in the Woods (April 13) – At a time when horror films have been getting less original, this -produced film sticks out as one of the most interesting horror films in a while.  I’ve been curious about this film since I first heard around 3 years ago (despite then not knowing anything about the plot).  Also, Friday the 13th is always a great day to see a horror film, don’t you think?
Repertory
  • The Big Lebowski (April 15) – Even though the Bloor Cinema is now focused on documentaries, some of their old repertory classics are being shown in a “Back to the Bloor” series this month. I’m so excited to have the chance to see his Coen Brothers classic on the big screen.
