This Week in Movies – April 20-26

ComicCon 1

HotDocs does not start for another week, though I’m getting a bit of a kick-start with some interesting docs playing this week.

New Releases

  • Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope (April 21) – Known for being in front of the camera, seemingly takes a bit of a backseat and lets the fans talk in this new documentary about the San Diego Comic-Con.  I’ve definitely been looking forward to seeing this one.
  • Sound It Out (April 20) – Playing at the Bloor Cinema, this documentary is about the final vinyl record shop in Teesside, North East England.  Will definite be a good film for music fans (or fans of the film High Fidelity) to check out.
  • The Raven (April 25) – Two days before it opens, I will be seeing an advanced screening of this film, which has Edgar Allen Poe (played by ) pursuing a serial killer inspired by his stories.  Will be interesting to say the least.
