This Weekend in Movies – April 30, 2010 – A Nightmare on Elm Street, Furry Vengeance, Gunless
Martin Scorsese Teaches Filmmaking
This weekend sees the release of one of the most high profile horror remakes – A Nightmare on Elm Street. I’m sure many people are nostalgic for Wes Craven’s 1984 original and the 14% Fresh rating over at Rotten Tomatoes suggests that critics are not going to allow the original film’s legacy to be tarnished.
However, that’s nothing compared to the measly 4% Fresh rating given to Brendan Fraser‘s ill-advised family comedy Furry Vengeance.
Canadian viewers also have the choice of the new western/comedy Gunless. The film received 2½ out of 4 stars in the Toronto Star and might be worth checking out.
