TIFF09: Long Wait, Good Picks

jennifersbody 1I changed things around for the first day of single ticket sales by heading to the box office bright and early in the morning.

It was a good thing too, since I ended up waiting in the line from around 9:45 until just after 1:30.

The long wait was worth it though, since I managed to quite a few of my top picks (with the only real disappointment being that the Coen Brothers’ A Serious Man was off sale).

Here is a rundown of the first four films I nabbed tickets for:

George A. Romero’s Survival of the Dead – September 14 – 12:30pm
I never saw any of Romero’s infamous zombie films, so this will definitely be an interesting experience indeed.

Suck – September 16 – 5:45pm
This Canadian film mixes the current vampire craze with a rock ‘n roll film and should make for a good time.

Jennifer’s Body – September 17, 8:30pm
One of the top film’s of this year’s Midnight Madness programme. I was glad I was able to get a ticket (even though the screening is the night before it opens in theatres).

The Hole – September 19, 3:45pm
As the first 3D film at TIFF, there was no way I could have missed this.

And there you have it. I’m sure this list will grow, but it is definitely a good start.
