It is time for the 2017 Golden Globe Awards. This is the official kick-off for awards season and while the Hollywood Foreign Press Association does make odd choices at times, there are always a few awards that will given an idea how the Oscars are going to turn out. So, here are my predictions for the awards in the film-specific categories.

• Best Motion Picture Drama – Moonlight
• Best Motion Picture Comedy/Musical – La La Land
• Best Actress Drama – Natalie Portman (Jackie)
• Best Actor Drama – Casey Affleck (Manchester by the Sea)
• Best Actress Musical/Comedy – Emma Stone (La La Land)
• Best Actor Musical/Comedy – Ryan Gosling (La La Land)
• Best Motion Picture Animated – Moana
• Best Motion Picture Foreign Language – Toni Erdmann
• Best Supporting Actress – Naomie Harris (Moonlight)
• Best Supporting Actor – Mahershala Ali (Moonlight)
• Best Director – Damien Chazelle (La La Land)
• Best Screenplay – Damien Chazelle (La La Land)
• Best Score – Justin Hurwitz (La La Land)
• Best Song – Can’t Stop the Feeling (Trolls)
